Tibetan language class in a primary school in Lhasa



Modern education in Tibet has adhered to bilingual (Tibetan and Chinese) education from the very beginning, aiming to popularize bilingual education based on the standard spoken and written Chinese language, consolidte and improve the bilingual education system.

In terms of curriculum, primary schools in Tibet pay attention to the education of Tibetan and Chinese languages, mathematics and behavioral habits cultivation, so that students can basically master and use the standard spoken and written Chinese language.

Through bilingual education, the Tibetan language has been widely used.

At the same time, Tibetan children get the opportunity to embrace a wider world, and Tibetan culture has been better passed on.
