“Nothing about the people is too small. As long as we’re on the job, we must do all we can to serve people well.” This is what Kasong Chodron always says. Kasong is a delegate to the 20th National Congress of CPC, and she’s the deputy director of Drashi Sub district Office, Chengguan District, Lhasa City and also first secretary of the Party Branch of Drashi community.

Since Kasong Chodron came to this community in 2015, she has worked as the neighborhood committee director at three communities including Drashi New Villge, Xungar and Drashi, as well as first secretary of the Party Branch and leader of the village-based working team. Whenever she assumed her role at a new community, Kasong Chodron would do a comprehensive research.

In almost 7 years of community work, Kasong Chodron frequently get close to residents and help them solve difficult problems. While serving as the first secretary of the Party Branch of Drashi community, she led the Party Branch and Village Committee members to improve the community’s environment. By designing green packaging with mulberry leaves, environmental protection promotion, upgrading to pollution-free mulberry leaves and remoulding mulberry leaf censers, they have effectively regulated the mulberry leaf burning activities at temples. Kasong Chodron also carries the role of the leader of the village-based working team. She has been coordinating between various departments to apply for funds to continuously improving base level activity venues and community infrastructure.

For her excellent work at the village-based working team, Kasong Chodron has been awarded Outstanding Member of the Village-based Working Team of Tibet Autonomous Region both in 2016 and 2020.
