Since the beginning of this year, the Tourism Development Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region has launched a number of policies to promote tourism and consumption, such as the "Winter Tour of Tibet" policy, 12 preferential incentives and subsidies for local tourism, the issuance of tourism consumption coupons in the region, and launching of tourist routes including "Return to Nature, Close to the Countryside”, G219 revolutionary relics, etc.

Recently, the reporter learned from the Tourism Development Department of the region that from January 1 to June 30, 2022, Tibet received a total of 17.174 million domestic and foreign tourists, including 5126 inbound tourists and 17.1689 million domestic tourists. The total revenue was 17.652 billion yuan (2.654 billion US dollars).

The reporter also learned that the more popular scenic spots in Tibet this year include the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Norbulingka, Basum Co Lake, Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, and Yamzhog Yumco Lake. In front of the Potala Palace Square, you can see a lot of tour groups and tourists who came to Lhasa by bicycle. The Potala Palace Square has returned to its former liveliness. "When I came to Tibet, I found that the scenery here is really different. We all like it very much. I came to the Potala Palace this morning and fulfilled a great wish."
