Experts and scholars from all walks of life discussed and explored the stories of Princess Wencheng during the forum.

Highlighted with solidarity and friendship between the Tibetan and Han ethnic groups, the story of Princess Wencheng is a precious cultural heritage in Tibet, which has been adapted for Tibetan opera, drama as well as TV plays.

In last December, the large epic musical "Princess Wencheng" debuted at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing with great success. And a namesake live-action drama will be staged this month.

"We will expand the research on Princess Wencheng in order to make it a cultural brand," said Jia Mowei, deputy secretary of municipal Party party committee of Lhasa. "The city of Lhasa will strive to create high-quality tourism and cultural products, promoting the development and prosperity of Tibetan culture."

Princess Wencheng left Chang'an, capital of Tang Dynasty (618-907A.D.), and got married with Tubo King Songtsan Gampo in Tibet over 1,300 years ago. Their marriage initiated a new era for the friendship between Tang Dynasty and Tubo, and their stories are widespread among Han and Tibetan people.
